Commission awards Civil Defense Charter Members
The Calhoun County Commission was honored to award three charter members of the Calhoun County Civil Defense Emergency Group in the August 28, 2008 Commission meeting. Mr. Henry Regions, Mr. Hugh "Pops" Smitherman Sr., and Mr George Short were all founding members of the Calhoun County Civil Defense when it was established on November 2, 1962. The Commission expressed their thanks to these three members and all members, past and present, for their hard work and dedication to Calhoun County. |
