WHEREAS, on June 10-12, 2011, the Marine Corps League, Allan Ray Chaffin Detachment, will host the statewide Department of Alabama Marine Corps League Convention in Calhoun County; and
WHEREAS, up to one hundred and fifty Marines and their spouses from throughout Alabama are expected to attend this event; and
WHEREAS, the Calhoun County Commission recognizes and commends these great Americans who honorably and valiantly served our country to preserve and defend our most cherished freedoms at home and abroad.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Calhoun County Commission, all members concurring, that we hereby proclaim Saturday, June 11, 2011, as
MARINE CORPS LEAGUE DAY IN CALHOUN COUNTY
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we encourage all citizens to support the Marine Corps League in their various programs.
