The Calhoun County Commission is proud and honored to recognize an individual in our community who has achieved significant success in her chosen profession.As Jacksonville State Universities Softball Coach, Jana Bright McGinnis recorded her 500th win on April 17, 2008, which is an outstanding accomplishment. Coach McGinnis began her coaching career at JSU in 1994, and over the years she had 11 seasons with 30+ wins, 5 seasons with 40+ wins, 3 Conference Championships, 1 Regional Appearance, 21 players named All Conference, and twice was named Conference Coach of the Year. Coach McGinnis exemplifies the true characteristics of a champion and the undeniable spirit of which champions are made, while representing JSU and the Calhoun County community with dignity and pride. She is known for building strong character in her players, applying morally sound principles and strict discipline, which prepares them for successful lives in the future.
The Calhoun County Commission, all members concurring, hereby commend and congratulate JSU Coach Jana McGinnis on her significant accomplishment.
