McClellan Hunt 2008
Dear McClellan Management Hunt Participants:
On behalf of Calhoun County Commission Chairman Eli Henderson, Sheriff Larry Amerson, Coroner Pat Brown and Commissioner of Licenses Barry E. Robertson, we wanted to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for your participation in the 1st Annual Calhoun County/McClellan Management Hunt. The primary charge of the hunt is to develop and control habitat management, as well as, create a cooperative effort with local hunters for the future promotion and proper management of deer harvest strategies. The analysis gathered for the hunt has been provided to the Alabama Cooperative Deer Management Account Program in order for state biological and conservation enforcement officers to make future recommendations for ensuing hunting seasons.
Calhoun County is certainly blessed with an abundance of outdoor, recreational and cultural activities throughout the year. The McClellan hunt can now be recognized as such an event. Please know that we are looking forward to future events at McClellan to include; father/son hunts, hunts for people with physical disabilities and the creation of a Conservation and Wildlife Management office and advisory board to be located at Fort McClellan.
Please be sure to check Sheriff Larry Amerson’s website for information regarding future hunting events.
