Notary Public Applicant Requirements
(Act 2011-295)

Notaries Public are commissioned by the Probate Judge of each County and hold office for four years from the date of commission.

  • Applicant must be a registered voter or provide documentation establishing proof of residency in Calhoun County
  • The applicant must submit a notary bond from an insurance or bonding company-amount of bond required under the law is $25,000.00
  • Each person must submit an application for appointment as Notary Public
  • Filing fee is:  $34.00
  • A Notary Public shall, pursuant to Act 2011-295, obtain for use in performing official duties, a seal of office.

Fill out the form by completing all fields within Adobe Reader or by printing the document and then hand printing the required information. Once the form is filled out completely, bring it to the Probate Judges office, located at 1702 Noble Street, Calhoun County Ken Joiner Administration Building, Anniston, Alabama.
